Councillor Carole Chapman (Chair)
Being born and brought up in Lincolnshire, it’s lovely that we have found a new home in the beautiful village of South Kyme. My husband was in the RAF, so I have lived in many places and have moved house 18 times. We have two lovely grown up children, and a dog Freya.
For the majority of my life I have worked in government both in England and Scotland. I worked for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency which gave me great satisfaction as I was able to help protect the environment. I have been involved in the planning process, including that of single houses right up to the planning of large waste infrastructures. I also worked as a Flood advisor covering the north of Scotland before I moved to London. Being part of the civil service in Whitehall I have worked in various Departments, these being primarily environmental related. This has been extremely interesting and given me an insight into how central government operates and the need for good communication.
My main hobby is orienteering, so you will often find me running around the village trying to keep fit. I am quite creative and enjoy going to the WI. I am also keen to look after our local wildlife through the village biodiversity group, and I have a passion for gardening.
I’ve been a parish Councillor since 2022 and my aspiration is to see the Councillors working together to support improvements in the village and village life. I hope everyone will find me approachable, willing to listen and a problem solver.
